Welcome Rising 1st Graders!

Dear Families,

Your child has worked so incredibly hard this year! I know that we all want him/her to KEEP that knowledge so when Fall rolls around, your child will be ready for 1st Grade.

Did you know that children lose an average of 2 months of learning if they do not read/practice skills during the summer months?! Scary, right? We don’t want that to happen, which is why I’m posting summer learning activities for your child to complete throughout the summer months. Reading daily and completing the IXL lessons in Math and Language Arts will help your child retain what he/she has learned. I’ll also be including links for fun activities and videos, so please check the blog regularly.

I hope you all have a great summer! I can’t wait to see you in the Fall! 😀

IXL also offers Summer Adventures for Rising 1st Graders (IXL.com/summer), which is a great resource to help your child stay on course for 1st grade. Please check out IXL for other fun learning activities as well.
