IXL assignments

Here are the skills I’d like your child to complete for IXL. They are divided into Math and Language Arts. Please remember: IXL checks for mastery of an assignment and not just whether or not your child has completed a section. If your child tells you that he/she has already done an assignment, they may not have mastered it yet. Either way, it certainly won’t hurt for him/her to review the assignment again! 😄 Please let me know if you have questions.

Math
Please complete sections:
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P(through 12)

Language Arts
Please complete sections:
Reading Foundations -
A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S
Reading Strategies -
T, U, V
Vocabulary -
W, X, Y, Z, AA, BB, CC, DD
Grammar and Mechanics -
EE, FF, HH, II, JJ, LL, OO, PP

Art Lesson from Ms. Lola

It is almost EASTER!!!

Let’s draw a Easter egg!!!!
Start by drawing a big oval on your paper. Remember to always use the most of your paper space. Next, decorate your egg. You can use patterns, lines, or shapes. Use color, crayons, markers, oil pastel, watercolors or anything you have around the house that you think you can use on your egg. Just be creative!!! Have fun!!! The due date for the assignment is April 3rd. Miss you all!!!

Weekly Assignments

Assignments for week of 3/30 - 4/3

Hi First Graders and Families!

These are the assignments for the week. As I stated in the email, I’ve mailed out a packet that hopefully will arrive by Wednesday. I’ll check in to make sure you’ve received it before I post any assignments from the packet.

I’ve also received requests to post specific assignments for IXL, which I’ll be doing on a separate post today.

On Wednesday, April 1st, you’ll notice that I’ve only listed Istation. At the first of every month, Istation automatically gives assessments for Reading and Math. Your child will need to log onto Istation and complete the Reading with ISIP assessment and the Math with ISIP assessment. Each takes about 20 to 30 minutes. It’s important that your child completes each in one sitting, uninterrupted. Please pick one to complete in the morning and then one after lunch. These assessments give me a better picture of where your child is excelling and where he/she may be struggling. This helps me when I assign activities to the Backpack, as well as any supplemental activities he or she may need.

I’m going to keep things simple for today and tomorrow. Please use this time to get caught up on assignments from last week. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
